Like other NWR movies, this one is successfully otherworldly, but still grounded enough that the stranger cinematic/story decisions feel less convincing than something like Sin City, which fully commits to its heightened setting.
Thatcher is genuinely good whenever she’s playing off another actor in a well written scene. I think a more restrained approach to the setting and edit would have made this a much stronger film.
